SOURDOUGH 101:

We will host a small group of ultra-beginners* here at the bakery to learn how to bake at home with sourdough starter. We will cover how to train up a lively starter from scratch, how to mix, ferment, shape, and bake your own loaf, and how to best utilize your home oven to produce crusty delicious results. We will provide drinks and snacks from our kitchen. We are limiting class size due to our small space, and to maximize hands-on bench-time with our lovely bakers! 

You will take home: 

  • A fresh loaf of sourdough that you've made! 

  • A bit of active starter to keep you baking at home

  • Freshly milled whole wheat flour to feed your starter

  • Information packet including helpful tips and notes from the class

  • Replicable formula for homemade country sourdough bread

    *This class is intended for folks who have little to no experience with naturally leavened baking. We will cover all basics to build a confident foundation upon which you can explore later, more advanced classes that'll be offered in forthcoming months! 

Croissant 101:

Learn how to hand-laminate dough to make croissants and pain au chocolat in class// Hands-on class. Leave with a box of croissants and recipe guide. Snacks and drinks provided.

Booking and Cancellation Policy

Class must be cancelled 48 hours prior to class start time in order to receive full refund to your credit card or reschedule the class to a different date. 
For parties of 4+ please do so 72 hours prior to the class start time. 
For any cancellation received with less than 48 hours notice, we will not be able to issue a full or partial refund *. Guests will be able to reschedule a new class to attend by contacting rootbakingco@gmail.com for a discounted 50% price.  
Root Baking Co. may have to cancel or reschedule a class that does not meet the minimum number of participants. Root will notify you 24 hours prior to the class start time and will give the option to either refund or re-enroll to another class. If we are forced to cancel an event due to severe weather conditions, Root will offer guests credit for another class.
